17th June 2026: Amnesty International York and Friends of the Earth were on the Millennium Bridge at Rowntree Park with a campaigning installation for Refugee Week.

The theme was “Courage” - courage to leave your country, sometimes for environmental reasons, and courage for us to receive the asylum-seekers well.

Passersby wrote messages of support for refugees on hexagons placed, like a quilt, on a “sea” background.
